Drone components, tools and airframe arms laid out across workbenches at a build session

About Fadron

Fadron builds unmanned aircraft and the AI that turns their imagery into engineering data.

Fadron is based at Sofia Tech Park in Bulgaria, an EU and NATO member state. We design the aircraft, write the flight and perception software, and manufacture the airframes ourselves.

The company

A manufacturer and a software company.

What we make ourselves

Carbon fiber layup, CNC machining, 3D printing, and final assembly happen on our own site, and the flight systems and the machine learning are written by our own engineers. A structural change and the software change it needs are decided in one review.

What it is built on

Over 15 years of operational expertise in UAV design, flight systems, and machine learning, built on 12+ years of local R&D and manufacturing.

Recognition

Fadron holds a European Innovation Council Seal of Excellence for its edge computing work, and was named Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2025 by ARC Fund.

Vision and mission

Why we fly

Our vision

A world where drones and AI quietly patrol the skies 24/7, keeping a constant watch over the critical infrastructure that keeps society moving.

Our mission

To make critical infrastructure safer, smarter, and more resilient by combining drones and AI into a seamless system for continuous, automated inspection.

XPRIZE Wildfire · Track B finals

Wildfire Quest, one of five finalists

We were part of the Wildfire Quest team in Track B, Autonomous Wildfire Response, of the $11M XPRIZE Wildfire competition, and on the ground for finals testing. Fadron built mission control and autonomy software for the team: real-time fire detection, suppression logic, comms, and coordination across multiple aircraft.
