Fadron at the 6th Innovation Fair in Nanjing, China, with the Bulgarian Delegation
Fadron took part in the 6th Innovation Fair, Sino-Euro Business Development Conference, held in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China, from October 26 to 30, 2026. We traveled with the Bulgarian national delegation and exhibited in the Bulgaria pavilion. Fadron builds HALO AI, drone pavement inspection software for roads and airports, and Nimbus, a long-range VTOL drone. We went to Nanjing to discuss pilot projects in road and airport maintenance, and to see first-hand where technology in China is heading.
The Bulgarian delegation at the Innovation Fair
The Innovation Fair is an international business development event that pairs European companies with counterparts in China through industry-focused matchmaking. The opening ceremony took place under the banner "China–Europe Business Development Conference".
The Bulgarian mission ran from October 24 to 31 and was organized by the Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency (BSMEPA). Our thanks go to the BSMEPA team for putting it together, and to everyone who stopped by our stand during the week.
What we discussed in Nanjing
Our conversations covered three kinds of cooperation, all in infrastructure inspection:
- Pilot projects with municipalities, transport authorities and industrial parks on the smart maintenance of roads and airports, using HALO AI to measure pavement condition from drone surveys.
- Research cooperation with universities on AI and remote sensing for pavement and infrastructure assessment.
- Distribution and integration partners who can bring HALO AI to road and airport owners in their own markets.
The week brought many good conversations with potential partners and innovators. We came home with new ideas and new contacts, and we are following up on them now.
Robotics on the show floor
Robotics was the most visible theme of the fair. One hall was lined with teleoperation stations, where operators wearing VR headsets controlled robots remotely. Elsewhere on the floor, humanoid robots demonstrated kitchen work.
For a company that works on automation for infrastructure, it was useful to see how quickly these systems are moving from stage demonstrations toward everyday work.
About Fadron
Fadron is a drone and AI company based at Sofia Tech Park in Bulgaria. HALO AI turns a drone survey into a pavement condition report scored to ASTM D6433 for roads and parking lots and to ASTM D5340 for airfields, with a maintenance and repair plan priced at your own unit rates. Road reports come back within 24 hours of upload. Nimbus is the long-range VTOL drone we design and build in the EU: it takes off and lands vertically, then flies long road and runway surveys like an airplane. Fadron was named Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2025 by ARC Fund.
